ateral Epicondylitis or Tennis Elbow is a condition in which the outer part of the elbow (called golfer’s elbow in the inner part), becomes inflamed and sore. The tendon at the elbow is usually injured due to overload or overuse.
Elbow pain can get better by resting the affected arm and applying ice to alleviate the inflammation. However, if you have felt pain for more than two weeks you could experience a much more severe injury and you should have it looked at. Physiotherapy can correct the problem (in a few sessions), and allow you to live a normal life.
Tennis elbow is mainly a tendon problem local to the elbow, but sometimes the pain is referred from the neck or shoulder, therefore, it is important to rule out other pathologies before starting to treat the elbow. Everyday tasks such as opening jars, writing or turn the car key can be painful and complicated. Tennis elbow is one of the most common injuries we treat.
